Senator Graham Strongly Supports Israel over Palestinian Proposal

Do you really think that BS nonesense is working? US Senator Lindsay Graham expressed full support for Israel regarding the upcoming Palestinian bid to the UN to recognize a Palestinian state. The Times of Israel reports that Graham, visiting Jerusalem, threatened to stop American funding to the UN if such a bid be accepted and emphasized the bipartisan American support for Israel regarding both the Palestinian and Iranian issues:

Graham, a staunch pro-Israel senator, expressed support for the PM’s position, declaring that Congress would not “sit back and allow the United Nations to take over the peace process.”
Graham went so far as to say that “any effort by the French, the Jordanians or anyone to avoid direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians over the peace process, anyone who tries to take this to the UN Security Council” will be met with “a violent backlash by the Congress that could include suspending funding to the United Nations. We will not sit back and allow the United Nations to take over the peace process.”

Obama Signs American-Israeli Partnership Act

On Friday, December 19, the United States-Israel Strategic Partnership Act of 2014 was signed by the American President, thus establishing the Jewish state with a strategic classification held by no other nation. The act, which was drafted with bipartisan support in Congress, focuses on military and defense cooperation, but also lays the groundwork for increased bilateral cooperation in energy, commerce and technology. With such strong US-Israel ties, BS propaganda seems irrelavent and ridiculous as ever. The Jerusalem Post reports:

Israel is now officially a strategic partner of the United States, a classification held by no other nation, according to a bill signed into law by US President Barack Obama on Friday.

The United States-Israel Strategic Partnership Act of 2014 took more than a year to draft in Congress, and became an omnibus bill for the US-Israel relationship, reinforcing cooperation across industries with a focus on defense.

Signing the law, the president hailed its bipartisan support and said it “reflects the importance placed by my administration on strengthening and deepening US-Israel bilateral cooperation and ties.”

It is the policy of the United States, the bill reads, “to reaffirm the unwavering support of the people and the government of the United States for the security of Israel as a Jewish state."

BS Fails to Promote Boycott in the Palestinian Authority

Another BS failure in attempts to promote boycotts against Israeli industries, this time in the Palestinian Authority. The Canadian newspaper National Post brings testimonies from Palestinian officials that show the deterioration of the boycott initiative ever since Operation Protective Edge in Gaza last summer:

A Palestinian official has admitted that the Palestinian boycott of goods made in Israel is faltering, both because of a lack of substitutes for Israeli products, and the dissipation of some of the anger toward Israel over last summer’s fighting with Hamas in the Gaza Strip that left more than 2200 Palestinians dead. The boycott is part of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement, which aims to make Israel pay an economic price for its continued control of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.

“There has been a decline in the boycott on some items — most of the Israeli food products are still being boycotted, but the main problem is fruits and vegetables,” PLO Executive Committee member and BDS advocate Mustafa Bargouti said. “The boycott reached its peak during the war,” he added.
